    Look, people, when we said we were going to talk about whatever we want on the podcast from here on out, we meant what the fuck we said. So this episode, along with the usual discussion about art, old music, and video games, we also swap stories about our past and present butt problems. If you can make it through that, though, we go on to discuss the growing trend of famous sexual predators being aired out, the Halloween-friendly films of Nicolas Cage, and…oh, shit, we also go into way too much detail about that old urban legend with Rod Stewart sucking off a bunch of sailors.   • Women’s History Month: Trina’s “Da Baddest Bitch”

    First and foremost, I love Trina. Trina is my shit. She’s a bossy, nasty, fellow Sagittarius woman who is obsessed with her own ass: sounds like a role model to me. In high school I was constantly listening to “Look Back At Me,” and for better or worse, the confrontational line “yeah you runnin’ now, you runnin’! I’mma put this pussy on you!” continues to influence me to this day.

    Trina has been outrageously raunchy since her debut verse on fellow Miami rapper Trick Daddy’s “Nann Nigga,” which jump-started Trina’s music career. Her 2000 debut album, Da Baddest Bitch, expands on the financially and sexually astute persona she introduced in “Nann Nigga.” The title track is essentially a book of proverbs for bad bitches, with such gems of wisdom as, “You see the bigger the dick, the bigger the bank / The bigger the Benz, the better the chance to get close to his rich friends”–and of course, my personal favorite, “make him eat it while my period on.”

  • Dystopian Listening Party Podcast: Je Suis Kanye

    Earlier this month, Kanye West (basically) released his seventh solo album, The Life of Pablo. And, since Zach won’t get around to writing about it for a while, we thought we’d dedicate this episode of our podcast to sharing our impressions. It’s a bit of a messy, meandering conversation, but then, that’s only fair when it comes to discussing a messy, meandering (but still great) album like Kanye’s. So join us, a couple of those “no-pussy-gettin’ bloggers” Yeezy loves so dearly, as we discuss The Life of Pablo, the meaning of “conscious” hip-hop in 2016, and why Kanye West matters.
